The title of the sculpture refers to Mother Earth (Gaia) or Ibu Bumi (Dewi Sri), a universal concept that has additional significance due to my my primordial mother of Indonesian origin. In her standing posture, she represents both giving and receiving. She stands for maternal care, but also for the power of women to pass on family values to future generations.
